Srilatha from the Technology Team of Nirmaan visited ‘Poor Student Ashram for Orphans and Semi-Orphan’ located in Miyapur

“I have realized that they do not need our sympathy. They just need our support” says Srilatha from the Technology Team of Nirmaan. Here is what she says about her first volunteering experience.
“It was my first volunteering activity. I have visited the ‘Poor Student Ashram for Orphans and Semi-Orphan’ located in Miyapur, Hyderabad. The students were self-organized and disciplined. Most of the ashram maintenance activities like maintaining records, organizing meetings, etc. are taken care of by the students. The elders take tuition for the younger kids and help them in their studies. Unlike many of us, they are not wasting time with regret about what they do not have. They utilize the available resources in the best possible way, help each other and grow together in life. Isn’t that the
best way for a human being to live life to the fullest? I was nervous before visiting the ashram fearing that I may get emotional during the visit. But surprisingly, what I had expected to be an emotional day has turned out to be a memorable learning experience.”
