Volunteering is a powerful tool that can bring change in society by simply investing time and effort. Wells Fargo – NirmaanCodingInitiative program is such an instance of a successful volunteering program. The Coding Initiative which was started by the Women in Technology (WiT) Team of Wells Fargo through volunteering 3 years back has now taken the shape of one of the impactful projects covering 3 states and providing coding skills to over 8,000+ Children across Karnataka, TamilNadu, and Telangana.
The Initiative focuses on Computational thinking, logical reasoning, and coding Skills. We recently conducted a Hackathon Finale in Telangana state where students presented their project ideas to the Judge panel at the Wells Fargo Campus. It was surreal for Juweriya, a class 10th Student of GGHS, Nampally school to stand in front of the techies and explain her project. Ten such amazing projects were presented by more than 20 bright students from Government schools across the state.
The students were shining with confidence at such a young age and this was a great platform for them to showcase their talent. We, Nirmaan Organization, thank Lina Nair, Bandana Jha, Sumona Ganguli and Parul for the Coding Initiatives.
We extend our thanks to all the volunteers, Judges, and Nitin for coordinating the event at Wells Fargo.
