The youth in India, particularly those from underprivileged and marginalized communities, face significant challenges in accessing education and employment opportunities. Despite a 75% literacy rate among the youth, high unemployment persists due to a lack of essential communication and interpersonal skills. The pandemic has worsened the situation, leaving students uncertain about their career paths and practical experience.
Nirmaan, with the support of Microsoft, is addressing this issue through the Impact Hiring Program, which establishes Hiring Hubs to connect skilled youth with employers, providing guidance and support. This initiative empowers underprivileged youth, including women, PwD, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those from economically weaker sections, facilitating their entry into the job market and fostering economic and social empowerment. Nirmaan's goal is to positively impact the lives of 1000 underprivileged young girls and place 600 individuals in various sectors, making a lasting difference in the nation's youth employment landscape.
Tamil Nadu's rich cultural heritage and historical significance have contributed to a society that highly values education and knowledge. Despite this emphasis, the state's youth are grappling with challenges in accessing employment opportunities. The job market has become highly competitive and demanding, making it challenging for young individuals to secure suitable employment.
We are excited to have a high number of Youth from Tamil Nadu enrolled in Nirmaan's Impact Hiring Program. The targeted training and skill development provided by Nirmaan has proven to be effective in preparing these young individuals for the job market. As a result, a significant proportion of them have successfully secured placements in various sectors. By continuing to support and invest in the youth of Tamil Nadu, Nirmaan's Impact Hiring Program can contribute to their personal and professional growth, ensuring a brighter future for both the individuals and the state's workforce.
