Disasters in India have risen at an unprecedented scale over the past decade. Floods, cyclones, and landslides have intensified in both scale and impact, costing the country an estimated ₹1 lakh crore (US$12 billion) in 2023 alone, and displacing 32.3 million people between 2015 and 2024, the third-highest in the world.
As disasters intensify, there is a need to ready a pool of resources that can be dispatched without delay. Through Project Punar Nirmaan, we build that fund so relief reaches families the moment they need it.
Relief that reaches on time can mean the difference between despair and survival.

This year, we stand with the families of Assam. Prolonged monsoon rains and overflowing rivers have caused some of the worst flooding the state has seen, and for lakhs of families, the crisis is still unfolding.
Immediate relief within the first critical hours, followed by rehabilitation to help families rebuild homes and restart the livelihoods the floods took.
"When the water takes everything, relief that arrives on time is the difference between despair and survival."
Our teams are on the ground in Sivasagar District, where the floods have hit villages around Nazira Town especially hard. Families here have lost their homes and belongings, and many now shelter in roadside tents, makeshift camps, and railway platforms, with little access to food, clean water, or essentials. Nirmaan's Disaster Response Team has completed rapid assessments across 16 villages, identifying 2,420 families, nearly 10,000 people, in urgent need.
Your support moves in two waves:
Back-to-Home Kits carrying dry rations, hygiene essentials, bedding, and household basics for families sheltering in tents and camps.
As support grows, clothing for adults and children, kitchen utensils, and educational materials to help children return to school and families get back on their feet.
Every $30 delivers one Back-to-Home Kit, everything a flood-hit family in Sivasagar needs to restart daily life once the water recedes. Every donation, regardless of amount, helps bring relief to flood-affected families.
Every $30 delivers one Back-to-Home Kit for a flood-hit family in Sivasagar.
Together, we're working to reach 2,420 families, nearly 10,000 people, across 16 flood-hit villages in Sivasagar District. You can support a single family with one Back-to-Home Kit, or help us reach an entire village.
Your support can be the first light after the storm.

Right now, 2,420 families in Sivasagar are starting over with nothing. Every kit you fund puts food, dignity, and the first steps of recovery back into a family's hands, and brings an entire village closer to rebuilding.
The water is receding. The hardest part, coming home, begins now. Stand with these families today.
